We are frequently instructed to provide reports on surveying and valuation matters as Expert Witnesses in matters of litigation, including matrimonial. We do this as witness for either party or as the sole expert to the Court and we are familiar with the procedures and the responsibilities.

We have developed a speciality in the provision of valuation reports and Expert Witness evidence in dilapidation matters under the auspices of Section 18 (1) of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1927. This is essentially a specialised form of valuation proving the diminution (or otherwise) of the value of the landlord’s reversion resulting from the alleged dilapidations. In these difficult economic times, we find we are more frequently called upon to provide these valuation reports as an aid to settling contentious issues.

Section 18 Valuations are singular and unlike almost any other. They require a very careful and reasoned approach and a sure sense of judgement coupled with a need for them to be completely defensible.
