New Developments and Land
There is evidence that house builders both nationally and regionally are taking a more cautious approach than they did in 2017/18. The market is not quite so buoyant and in some cases there are fairly substantial amounts of stock from recent large scale developments which still have to be sold. The Help to Buy regime assists considerably and certainly continues to support the market but there is some uncertainty and house builders are now discounting and offering other forms of incentives such as part exchange etc which have not been seen for some years.
There is still quite a strong demand for land and high prices are being paid. Housing Associations are also very active because they have the construction of new build homes.
