Chartered Surveyors have become increasingly important to housing associations and local authorities as they deal with the enormous changes brought about by Government legislation over the last two decades.
Local authorities still need extensive valuation advice for their Right to Buy obligations and for other matters, such as bidding for Government finance and, to some degree, competitive tendering.
We act for over fifty housing associations and other registered social landlords in providing both valuation and development appraisal advice. Our role here runs from the conventional valuation of individual properties and sites, through scheme appraisals and the valuation of completed schemes, often on a discounted cash-flow basis and frequently relating to the valuation base for previous years.
We have many years’ experience of acting for housing associations, especially progressive ones, and this is an important part of our work. Our links with housing associations, having sat on several boards, give us invaluable background knowledge to what may be required and an understanding of changing fashions and requirements.
